Maggie Oakes Vieux Port Montreal
The old port has some of the best restaurants that Montreal offers; one of my new favorites is Maggie Oakes. Located at 426 Pl. Jacques-Cartier This restaurant is very easy to locate and is in a great location.
Maggie Oakes is perfect for a weekend brunch or dinner with friends. Something to be aware of is the pricing. Old Port Montreal is not cheap, so be prepared to pay a higher price per meal. The service may be a little slow at times due to the high volume of visitors in the city. Reservations can be booked online to ensure a great experience.
BlacBlack Cod with Roasted Cauliflower and Vegetables *Not currently on the menu*
This black cod with vegetables was truly amazing. The sauces complemented this dish very well. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and delicious. I ordered a side of truffle mashed potatoes that complimented this dish well. The truffle mashed potatoes were nice and fluffy; the truffles did not overwhelm this dish or take away from its original taste.
Truffled Mash Potatoes
These truffle-mashed potatoes tasted like home, and at a cost of only $8, they were worth it. I would have expected the cost to be a little higher because of the quality. The truffle oil was evident but not overpowering. I highly recommend this side dish.
Chocolate and caramel delight
Almond and chocolate biscuits, salted caramel, dark chocolate, and hazelnut mousse
This chocolate and caramel delight was smooth yet crunchy. The dark chocolate complements the caramel very well. This dessert can be shared, as it is very rich. I recommend pairing it with a nice cup of coffee or latte to end your evening.
