Pâtisserie Coco, Chinatown Montreal

Pâtisserie Coco is the most popular bakery in Montreal's Chinatown. Located at 2 Rue de la Gauchetière O, they are less than a five-minute walk from Metro Place d'Armes. Pâtisserie Coco opened in 2019 and has been a huge attraction amongst locals and visitors.

Since it's opening, they have been serving buns, breads, cakes, bubble tea, hot egg tarts, and more. Pâtisserie Coco also serves fresh fruit cakes for any occasion. Check out my visit below and enjoy their fresh selections.

When you arrive at Pâtisserie Coco, you will need to grab a tray and clips to start your dessert journey. The selection is very overwhelming, as all of the items look delicious. There are several wrapped items, such as slicked cake, rice crispies, and sweet breads.

Some of the classics sold are custard buns, BBQ pork buns, mochi, flaky pastries, and cheesecake. You can walk away with tons of goodies for less than $20.

I have honestly never been a huge fan of egg tarts. I only became a fan once I tried the ones served at Pâtisserie Coco. There were two kinds to choose from; I preferred one that resembled a Portuguese nata. The taste was not the same, but still good. The price per egg tarte was incredibly affordable.

The egg tarts are kept in a heated oven to maintain their freshness. This also adds to the flavor and taste.

Final Review

I highly recommend Pâtisserie Coco and give them a solid 8/10. They have a wide selection of baked goods and are very affordable. The staff is helpful when needed, as Pâtisserie Coco allows each customer to choose their own dessert. This is very much a "serve yourself" bakery.

The store is very inviting and is usually very packed on weekdays due to the high number of tourists in the city. They are the perfect dessert shop to visit after enjoying a nice dinner in Chinatown. Check them out today; you won't be disappointed.
