Sep 1 Nouilles de Lan Zhou

Nouilles de Lan Zhou is one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal’s Chinatown. They are well known for their hand-pulled homemade noodles. During the weekends, it is almost impossible to get in right away, as there is always a long line. Wait times are close to an hour, so be sure to arrive early.

I will be the first to tell you that it is worth the wait. Their noodles are all fresh and made on the spot. The broth is fresh and tasty, and so are the side dishes. Dining is available for individuals and groups, and the best part is that the price is very affordable.

Upon arrival, a staff member will guide you to your seat and present you with a menu. The menu showcases the various dishes and combos that are offered. Side dishes and drinks can be ordered for an additional cost.

Combo, Nouilles ZhaJiang, with the JiuYe Noodles (5)

I have tried a few dishes at Nouilles de Lan Zhou, but my all-time favorite is the Nouilles ZhaJiang, with the JiuYe Noodles (5). I really enjoy the meat sauce that accompanies this dish. The flavors are rich, and the sauce is nice and thick. This dish comes with shredded carrots, edamame, shredded zucchini, and bok choy.

I purchased (combo 2) Nouilles ZhaJiang for $19.49. For my side dish, I chose the spicy cucumbers.

Final review

I highly recommend Nouilles de Lan Zhou; it's worth the trip if you’re in the city or simply passing through. This restaurant is very affordable; for less than $20 per person, you will walk away with a generous amount of food.
