10 Best Restaurants in Montreal Right Now

Montreal is the go-to place for culture, beauty, attractions, and food. Located in the province of Quebec, this city garners over 11 million visitors each year who look forward to our jazz festivals, grand prix, and, most importantly, the food! Each part of this city has amazing restaurants that are well-known and visited by the locals.

Today, I will show you my top 10 most popular restaurants that I have visited and loved. They range in cuisine from Japanese to French to American and more. Let's jump right in, starting with Bar George. As always, comment down below and share with me your favorite restaurant or lounge.

Located in Le Mount Stephen, Bar George is a must-try. This British-inspired restaurant serves up some of the best brunch, lunch, and dinner in Montreal. What makes this restaurant so unique is its location. Bar George is located in Le Mount Stephen, which was the historic home of Sir George Stephen.

Built over 140 years ago, it is now a huge attraction in the city and is a favorite of most locals and tourists. Bar George is open 7 days a week and offers private dining in some of their exclusive rooms, such as the Robson, Père Lacombe, and more.

The Keg Steakhouse is a well-known restaurant in Montreal and is a favorite amongst locals and visitors to the city. They serve up some of the best drinks and appetizers on the block. Located in the heart of downtown Montreal at Place Ville Marie, they are easy to locate and accessible via Metros Bonaventure and Peel.

The Keg also has an alternate location in the Old Port of Montreal and is the perfect place to enjoy with friends. In the summer, at both locations, The Keg offers a beautiful outdoor patio to enjoy while sipping on one of their signature drinks.

3. Onigiri Shop, Monkland Ave

The Onigiri Shop opened its doors in late 2023 and is one of my favorite new places to be. Since their opening, they have been constantly packed, and the line has been out the door. The Onigiri Shop specializes in various onigiri that come with a wide variety of fillings to choose from. Prices are very reasonable and start at $3.99 and up.

The onigiri shop also serves soups, desserts, and teas. Located at 5600 Monkland Ave., Montreal. Visit them today, and I guarantee you will love it. Seating is limited, so be sure to arrive early, as there are no reservations.

Onigiri (お握り or 御握り) is a Japanese food made from white rice formed into triangular or cylindrical shapes and often wrapped in nori.


4. Daldongnae Korean BBQ

Daldongnae is one of the best Korean BBQ restaurants in Montreal. They are located at 1216 Bishop St., in the heart of downtown Montreal. This restaurant is known for its "table barbecues." Each serving is for one person and comes with a choice of meat (beef, pork, premium Wagyu beef, and a vegan set).

At Daldongnae Korean BBQ, all table barbecues come with complimentary dishes (corn cheese, eggs, lettuce, soybean stew, and five side dishes). 5. Bevo Bar + Pizzeria

Bevo Bar + Pizzeria is the place to go for amazing wood-fired pizza. This little gem is located in the Old Port of Montreal at 410 R. Saint-Vincent, Montréal. If you're worried about traffic and parking, don't be! Bevo Bar + Pizzeria is accessible via Metros Place d'Armes and Champ-de-Mars.

If you're visiting during the summer, there is a spacious patio in front of the restaurant that gives you a great view of the old port. There is also interior seating for small and large groups. 6. Nouilles De Lan Zhou

Nouilles de Lan Zhou is the go-to place for fresh, hand-pulled noodles. This little gem is located in Swatow Plaza in Montreal's Chinatown.

Nouilles de Lan Zhou also offers a variety of tasty broths and appetizers. Open 7 days a week to the public, they offer takeout plus the option to dine in. This restaurant is a favorite among the locals, so be prepared to wait up to an hour during the weekends and busy times. 7. Sammi & Soupe Dumpling

Ever wanted to try amazing soup dumplings? Look no further! Sammi & Soup Dumplings has several locations around Montreal and is one of the most affordable restaurants in Montreal's Chinatown. This restaurant is known for its delicious dumplings, which come in a variety of flavors.

Prices range from $10 to $15, and appetizers start at $4. Sammi & Soup Dumplings is a very popular restaurant, so arrive early to grab a seat. Reservations are not needed, as it is first come, first served. Check out their official website for more details.

Panda Dore is a cute little restaurant located in the heart of Chinatown, Montreal, at 14 R. de la Gauchetière E. Since its opening, this family-owned restaurant has been a huge hit, as tons of visitors visit them for the crispy pan-fried pork buns.

Panda Dore has some of the best prices and food in Montreal's Chinatown. The staff is always friendly, and the food is as fresh as can be. This is one of my favorite restaurants on the list and deserves a solid 10/10. Visit them today to check out their menu. Try their amazing pan-fried pork buns, gluten-free salad, and more.

If you're looking to experience live jazz and amazing food, then check out Jardin Nelson. Located in the heart of the Old Port at 407 Pl. Jacques-Cartier, they are certainly worth the visit. This amazing restaurant is open from May until October each year and is a fantastic place to enjoy a great meal, live music, and wonderful conversation.

Jardin Nelson has an amazing lunch and dinner menu that includes tasty cocktails, salads, pizzas, and desserts. Every year, I visit at least twice to sample their updated menu.

10. Maggie Oakes

The restaurant with the best patio goes to Maggie Oakes. Located at 426 Pl. Jacques-Cartier, they are less than a 10-minute walk from Metros Place d'Armes and Champ de Mars.

Maggie Oakes is known for their dry-aged meats, one-of-a-kind cocktails, and amazing desserts. The wonderful thing about this restaurant is its location; they are in the heart of the old port and provide diners with a beautiful view of all the festivities that take place during the day and night.

During the summer, to cool down, there is also the option to dine inside. Maggie Oakes is the perfect place for large groups, date nights, or just a casual hangout.
