Terrasse Jacques-Cartier

Great hangout spot nestled in the heart of Old Port Montreal
— FNF

Terrasse Jacques-Cartier is a noticeable little spot in the Old Port of Montreal. Located at 321 Place Jacques-Cartier, they are easy to locate with their iconic red decor. I tried this restaurant over the weekend, and I was not disappointed.

The menu was simple and to the point; the service was good, and the servers were very friendly. This is a great place to have a quick lunch with friends, but it is not recommended for date night. Check out my visit below, leave a comment, and tell me about your experience.

Rose Sangria $30

Pineapple juice, sprite, rose wine, and brown rum

The Rose sangria was enjoyable; the cost of this pitcher was $30, and it allowed us to have two drinks each. The drink had a sweet but light taste to it, which complemented our meal very well. I would recommend this sangria, as it was worth the money.

Terrasse Jacques-Cartier also serves a Blance, Rouge, and Sangria a la Briere on their current menu.

Buffalo chicken wings with homemade fries

Let me start by talking about the fries. At $8 per basket, the cost was a little steep, but the product was good. The fries were golden, crispy, and perfectly cooked. They were a solid 8/10.

We ended up ordering 16 wings for $28. For three people, the portion was more than enough. Even though the wings were amazing, the cost was too high as there were not a lot of garnishings and sauce.

Quebecer Pizza

Pepperoni, bacon, and mushrooms

The Quebecer pizza was amazing. It was the best item we ordered. The cost for this menu item was $25. The size of it is between small and medium. The slices were not big, but it was enough to serve us two slices each.

My final review

I give Terrasse Jacques-Cartier a solid 7/10 for the food, service, and dining experience. My favorite dish was the Quebecer pizza. I have not had a pizza this good in a long time. The wings were nice and crispy, and the fries had a nice crisp. I am going to try them again so that I can explore more of their menu. Once more, the menu does look basic, but the food will surprise you.

Lastly, the prices are a tad high, but when you step foot in the Old Port, expect to pay a little more for items that can be found cheaper elsewhere.

Visit Terrasse Jacques-Cartier’s official website for more details on their hours, menu, and pricing.
