Sammi & Soupe Dumpling
If you're looking for satisfying soup dumplings in Montreal that will not break your budget, look no further! Known as Xiao Long Bao, Sammi & Soup Dumplings specializes in various steamed soup dumplings with different fillings and flavors. In my opinion, they serve some of the best the city has to offer. Sammi's has several locations in Montreal for you to choose from that are easy to locate.
Today, I visited the location in Montreal's Chinatown at 68 Rue de la Guachetiere. This location is only 5 minutes away from the metro station Place D'Armes and is in the heart of Chinatown. Take a look at my visit from today, leave a comment, and tell me your favourite dumplings from Sammi's.

The menu at Sammi & Soupe Dumplings is very straightforward. It showcases the various dumplings and fillings that are on the menu. There is pork, beef, chicken, vegetarian, and shrimp.
For lunch, I ordered the soup dumplings with the filling (sweet pork) for $12.99 and a side of seaweed salad for $7. The sweet pork dumplings were a solid 9/10. The broth was very tasty, and the sweet pork was perfect and not overwhelming. To add more flavour, I added some chili oil, which balanced out the sweetness in the pork well.
The seaweed salad was a 5/10; I did not enjoy it as much as the vinegar was a little too strong. I have tried many seaweed salads, and this one was not at the top of my list.
Final Review
I enjoyed the food and experience at Sammi & Soup Dumplings. The staff was super friendly and answered any questions that I had regarding the menu and ingredients. Even though I did not like the seaweed salad, I thoroughly enjoyed the soup dumplings. The portion is very generous for one person, but in my opinion, it can be shared between two people, especially when trying different menu items. The restaurant was very clean, and so were the utensils and sauces.
I also liked the space and location, as they are in the heart of Chinatown Montreal, just a few minutes walk from the Old Port. If you are planning on visiting during the weekend, seating at this location is limited, so arrive early to get a seat.
